Rise Against begins writing next album: “We’re getting together and playing ideas”

Martin Philbey/RedfernsRise Against has started work on a new album, the follow-up to 2017’s Wolves.

“Yes, we are writing,” frontman Tim McIlrath tells Kerrang!. “We’re getting together and playing ideas.”

However, he cautions that you shouldn’t “hold your breath” waiting for the album to arrive, because the Chicago rockers plan to take their time with this one.

“The one thing that we have decided is that we don’t want to feel rushed,” McIlrath explains. “We’ll put out the record when it’s done, not to try and meet some deadline.”

In the meantime, you can catch Rise Against open for Misfits in Los Angeles on June 29. They’ll also be playing Chicago’s Riot Fest in September.
