Beastie Boys share mini-documentary celebrating 25th anniversary of “Ill Communication”

ABC/Randy HolmesFriday marks the 25th anniversary of the 1994 Beastie Boys album Ill Communication, and to celebrate, the band has released a miniature documentary about the record.

The 14-minute clip, produced by Amazon Music and streaming now on YouTube, features Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz and Michael “Mike D” Diamond detailing the making of Ill Communication, along with rare behind-the-scenes footage.

You can also listen to a longer audio documentary about the record, featuring 40 minutes of interviews with Ad-Rock and Mike D, available exclusivity on Amazon Music.

Released May 31, 1994, Ill Communication was certified three-times platinum, and spawned the hit single, “Sabotage.”

The doc is the latest retrospective project from the Beasties, following last fall’s 600-page Beastie Boys Book.
