Shinedown releases “GET UP” EP

ABC/Randy HolmesIf you’ve ever wanted all of Shinedown‘s versions of “GET UP” in one place, you’re in luck.

The band has now released the GET UP EP, featuring three different interpretations of the track: the original, a piano-led version and an acoustic performance. You can download it now via digital platforms.

“‘GET UP’ is a song about empathy,” says frontman Brent Smith, who wrote the tune about bassist Eric Bass‘ battle with depression.

“It’s a song about not being afraid to fail,” Smith adds. “It’s a song about inspiring others and now we want you to hear the song as it began.”

The original “GET UP,” appears on Shinedown’s latest album, ATTENTION ATTENTION.

Shinedown will launch a summer tour in support of the record June 21 in The Woodlands, Texas. Badflower, Dinosaur Pile-Up and more will open.
