Blink-182’s Travis Barker shares over 300 drum samples for you to use

ABC/Alycia MonacoHow would you like to jam with Travis Barker? Or, barring that, how would you like to jam with samples created by Travis Barker? Well, that second dream is now a reality.

The Blink-182 drummer has united with Splice, a subscription service that allows users to download and share samples, to bring his own sound to music makers. The Travis Barker sample pack includes over 300 clips ranging from “tight acoustic grooves to hard-hitting electronic beats.”

Splice has also produced a behind-the-scenes video with Barker, during which he recounts his career with Blink and his work with the hip hop world.

“At the end of the day, whatever you’re doing, if you’re producing, playing drums, guitar, rapping…the goal is to develop your own style,” Barker says. “A lot of the songs that I’ve played on or recorded on…I could have easily done whatever it is for that tempo. I think what made me different is pushing those boundaries and trying to make things different.”

Meanwhile, you can hear Barker’s work on the new Blink-182 single, “Blame It on My Youth,” the first preview from their upcoming album, the follow-up to 2016’s California. The trio launches a co-headlining tour with rapper Lil Wayne June 27 in Columbus, Ohio.
