The nu metal outfit has announced that Ryan Shuck, co-founder of the band Orgy and member of the Chester Bennington project Dead By Sunrise, will be the group’s new lead vocalist. Shuck, who also leads the electronic band Julien-K, joins Adema in place of frontman Marky Chavez.

In a long Facebook post, Shuck explains that he’s a longtime fan of Adema, having previously played with bassist David DeRoo in the band Sexart, which also featured future Korn frontman Jonathan Davis. He notes that he was “personally engaged in a major effort” last year to put the group “back together.”

This led to Chavez, who’d rejoined Adema in 2017 after leaving multiple times, telling Shuck “calmly and clearly” that he “does not want to sing to this music anymore.”

With Chavez officially out of the band, the rest of Adema turned to Shuck and asked if he would be their new frontman. After some hemming and hawing, he agreed, and will make his Adema debut on a tour starting in September.

“I’m going to do ‘my thing,’ with my brothers in Adema (the entire original band) as they do ‘their thing,’ onstage, 5-6 nights a week, throughout the USA, for what may be a once in a lifetime experience,” Shuck writes. “Please join us this fall. It’s going to be amazing.”
