Tyler Joseph trades boatload of merch for Twenty One Pilots fan’s Ned stuffed animal

ABC/Image Group LAA Twenty One Pilots fan received the merch haul of a lifetime after she gave frontman Tyler Joseph a Ned plush toy.

Ned, if you’re unfamiliar, is the adorable, alien-like creature who stars in TOP’s “Chlorine” video. During the band’s show in San Antonio, Texas, Joseph spotted a fan in the crowd holding her own Ned stuffed animal, and asked if he could have it, since his one one-year-old niece Mia is obsessed with Ned.

“Whenever she gets sick or she’s tired, all she asks for — I’m not even making this up — all she asks for is Ned,” Joseph explained after the fan handed him the doll.

“So my sister will show her, my little niece, the video of ‘Chlorine’ and it calms her down right away,” he continued. “And so thank you so much for giving this to me, because I’m going to give her this — she’s always wanted her own real Ned.”

To thank the fan, Joseph instructed someone to “make sure she gets stuff from whatever.” As the fan later explained in a Twitter thread, that stuff turned out to be over $300 in merch, including t-shirts, hoodies and jackets.

“I have no idea how to repay this band,” she wrote. “I really have absolutely no idea how to react. “I’m so grateful, truly.”

You can watch the whole exchange in a video posted to Reddit.

Twenty One Pilots are currently touring in support of their new album, Trench. The trek continues Tuesday in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
