Metallica’s Kirk Hammett & Robert Trujillo playing one-off covers show

ABC/Randy HolmesMetallica‘s Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo are joining forces to create an all-star cover band.

The group, dubbed The Wedding Band, also includes Ugly Kid Joe‘s Whitfield Crane and former Queens of the Stone Age drummer Joey Castillo. They’ll perform one-off show July 26 in Richmond Hill, Ontario at the Cosmopolitan Music Hall, inside the gigantic Cosmo Music instrument superstore.

Attendees will get to see The Wedding Band tackle classics originally by AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Billy Idol and more. For ticket info, visit CosmoMusic.ca.

Hammett and Trujillo have plenty of experience playing covers together, as they often do just that during the regular “Doodle” segment of Metallica’s live shows. For example, during a show in Kansas earlier this year, the pair performed a rendition of “Carry on Wayward Son” by Kansas. Last fall, they played Prince‘s “When Doves Cry” in Minneapolis.
