The Hives’ comeback continues with new song, “Good Samaritan”

Credit: Goran BrobergFollowing last month’s release of the single “I’m Alive,” The Hives’ comeback continues with another new track. The latest cut is titled “Good Samaritan,” and is available now via digital outlets.

In a statement about the new tune, the Swedish rockers say, “This a song about helping people help themselves by not helping them? Are they sarcastic or do they hate people now? Is this punk? You never know with these Hives and it’s been a while since I saw them so let’s all go see them again and see what they are on about?”

Make of that what you will.

A limited-edition double-A side seven-inch vinyl single featuring both “I’m Alive” and “Good Samaritan” is out now via Third Man Records.

Prior to the release of “I’m Alive” in May, The Hives hadn’t released a new song since 2015’s “Blood Red Moon.” The band’s most recent album is 2012’s Lex Hives.
