Steven Adler is “alive and well” following hospitalization reports

Oliver Walker/Getty ImagesEx-Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler is “alive and well” following reports that he was hospitalized for a self-inflicted stab wound.

“I’m really sorry about all this media confusion that’s been going on,” Adler said in a Facebook video posted Wednesday night. “I’m alive and well.” He added that he’s “looking forward” to a run of upcoming shows, starting July 12 in Las Vegas.

Last week, TMZ reported that Adler was taken to the hospital after stabbing himself in the stomach. People reported that police responded to a possible suicide attempt.

A rep for Adler later told TMZ that the incident was completely accidental, and described the drummer’s wound as “very minor” and “superficial.”

Adler played on Guns N’ Roses’ seminal 1987 debut album Appetite for Destruction before being dismissed from the band in 1990 due to substance abuse problems. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with the band in 2012, and has since played live with them several times on their Not in This Lifetime reunion tour.
