Beartooth covering “Wild Thing” for MLB Home Run Derby

Credit: Nick FancherThe MLB Home Run Derby takes place Monday night in Cleveland, and Ohio natives Beartooth will help provide the soundtrack.

The Columbus-based metallers have recorded a cover of The Troggs‘ garage-rock classic “Wild Thing,” which will be used during the Home Run Derby telecast.

“Wild Thing,” of course, has a strong connection to Cleveland baseball, having been used in the 1989 film Major League, which stars Charlie Sheen as pitcher Ricky “Wild Thing” Vaughn.

The Home Run Derby airs tonight, July 8 at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN. The MLB All-Star Game takes place Tuesday, July 9.
