The pop superstar revealed his love for Maynard James Keenan and company in his Instagram Story by posting the opening lines from Tool’s “The Pot,” a track from the band’s last album, 2006’s 10,000 Days.
Not content with just quoting the enigmatic rockers, Justin also wanted to know if any of his Beliebers were Tool fans as well.
“If you know what the song is to they lyrics I posted write them down on my last post,” he wrote. “Don’t look it up please I’m curious if any of you know it.”
Perhaps Bieber’s love for Tool will help prove his rock and metal cred. He’s previously drawn the ire of the community for wearing Nirvana and Metallica shirts.
Of course, if he can help ensure that Tool will actually release their long-awaited album on August 30, then surely all will be forgiven.
