Lakini’s (spiked) Juice: Live announces signature craft beer

Credit: Clay Patrick McBrideLive has teamed up with the California-based brewery Alosta Brewing to release a new signature craft beer.

Called Throwing Copper Ale, the 5.3 percent ABV brew is described as a “union of the caramel toffee-like sweetness of English barley and the bitterness of Nobel hops.” The name, of course, is a reference to Live’s multi-platinum 1994 album, Throwing Copper.

“Considering Live’s amazing and blessed career of over 25 years and its countless highlights, it can be pretty challenging to find things that we have yet to accomplish or try anew,” says frontman Ed Kowalczyk in a statement.

“So when Alosta Brewing Co. approached us with the idea of Throwing Copper Ale, we jumped at the chance to do something we hadn’t done before,” he continues. “Marrying a classic ale and a classic album like Throwing Copper was a no-brainer! So Cheers and Bottoms Up baby!”

You can pre-order Throwing Copper Ale now via Freaks4Live.com, and it will ship in October.

In addition to a signature beer, Live is spending the summer celebrating the 25th anniversary of Throwing Copper on a co-headlining tour with Bush, which continues July 26 in Appleton, Wisconsin. They’re also releasing a 25th anniversary reissue of Throwing Copper, featuring three bonus tracks, this Friday, July 19.
