Filter reunion album canceled due to PledgeMusic bankruptcy

Michael Bezjian/Getty ImagesLast year, original Filter members Richard Patrick and Brian Liesegang announced that they’d be reuniting to record a new album, their first together since the band’s 1995 debut, Short Bus. Now, those plans have been canceled.

The duo had planned to fund the record — working title: reBus — through the crowd-funding site PledgeMusic, but the site filed for bankruptcy earlier this year after reports that artists were not being paid in a timely manner.

reBus is noBus!!!” reads a Filter Facebook post. “Due to the PledgeMusic debacle there will be no reBus record featuring Brian Liesagang.”

Liesegang left Filter in 1997, two years after the release of Short Bus and its lead single, “Hey Man, Nice Shot.”

Meanwhile, Filter will release a 20th anniversary edition of their 1999 sophomore album Title of Record on August 9.
