Tool unveils new logo ahead of album release

Credit: Tim CadienteCan we interest you in the logo change for a band that hasn’t released any new music in 13 years? Well, what if that band is the ever-enigmatic Tool?

Yes, the “Schism” rockers are continuing to dole out the smallest of breadcrumbs leading up to the release of their long-awaited new album, the follow-up to 2006’s 10,000 Days. The latest morsel is a silent, 45-second video featuring an updated logo, complete with a new typeface and gold lettering.

The video also includes the date August 30, the previously announced release date for the much-anticipated record.

Aside from that date, not much is known about the album — we’re still waiting on a title and a track list. Presumably, it will include the new songs “Descending” and “Invincible,” which Tool has been playing live on tour.
