Biffy Clyro’s next album will be “a lot more rocking” than last record

Frank Hoensch/RedfernsBiffy Clyro has been working on a new album, and drummer Ben Johnston tells NME that the record will take a different musical direction than its predecessor, 2016’s Ellipsis.

“It’s definitely a lot more rocking on this album,” Johnston explains. “It’s definitely a lot more rocking that Ellipsis was.”

Johnston adds that the album will “definitely” be out in 2020.

“It’s a work in progress and quite an overyielding beast at the moment,” he says. “But we’ll get it into shape over the next few months.”

In the meantime, you can listen to Biffy Clyro’s new soundtrack album Balance, Not Symmetry, which was recorded to accompany the 2019 film of the same name.
