The Offspring “putting finishing touches” on next album

The record is being produced by frequent collaborator Bob Rock, who also produced Metallica‘s Black Album and has worked with Aerosmith, The Cult, David Lee Roth, Motley Crue, 311 and Bush.

“We’ve had an amazing time in the studio with Bob,” says frontman Dexter Holland. “We have history with him — he knows what works for us and how to get the best out of us.”

Holland adds that, except for a “few small things,” the band is “pretty much wrapped.”

“[We’re] excited to get these tunes out there,” he says. “We have a lot of really fast stuff on there, plus a couple of things that you might not really expect from us.”

“People keep asking me what it sounds like and I say, it sounds like…us,” adds guitarist Noodles. “It’s all there — the melody, the powerful drums, bass and guitar. We dig it. You’ll dig it.”

Since Days Go By, The Offspring has released a one-off single called “Coming for You” in 2015.
