Slipknot has 15 songs left over from “We Are Not Your Kind” sessions

ABC/Randy HolmesSlipknot‘s Shawn “Clown” Crahan has revealed that the masked metallers have a batch of extra material left over after finishing their upcoming new album, We Are Not Your Kind.

“There’s another 15 songs that didn’t make the cut,” Crahan tells Kerrang! “There’s at least seven or eight songs that are recorded, with vocals, that did not make this album.”

As for why those songs didn’t make We Are Not Your Kind and whether they’ll ever see the light of day, Clown says, “Usually you take your collection of records, and you make an album. So we have a bunch of records, and we have to basically decide which ones of those records can make up a thought process known as We Are Not Your Kind.”

So, make of that what you will.

We Are Not Your Kind, featuring the lead single “Unsainted,” is due out August 9. Slipknot’s current U.S. tour in support of the album continues Tuesday in Auburn, Washington.
