Watch Dave Grohl cover Van Halen with The Bird & The Bee on “The Late Late Show”

Ella DeGea/CBSDave Grohl popped up on CBS’ The Late Late Show Wednesday night to play drums alongside The Bird & The Bee.

The Foo Fighters frontman joined the duo, made up of vocalist Inara George and producer Greg Kurstin, for a cover of Van Halen‘s 1978 single “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love.”

The track will be featured on The Bird & The Bee’s upcoming Van Halen tribute album, Interpreting the Masters, Volume 2. The collection, which also includes a performance of “Hot for Teacher” featuring Beck, arrives August 2.

Grohl has long been a fan of The Bird & The Bee, which led to Kurstin — who’s worked with artists including Paul McCartney, Kelly Clarkson, Pink and Sia — producing the latest Foo Fighters album, 2017’s Concrete and Gold

By the way, Inara George is the daughter of the late Lowell George, of the legendary boogie-rock band Little Feat.
