Credit: Martin JausllerSlayer‘s show in Stuttgart, Germany over the weekend marked the metal band’s last-ever European show, and the power of the moment was certainly felt by bassist/vocalist Tom Araya.
In an Instagram video posted by Frank Bello of Anthrax, who was an opener for the show, a clearly emotional Araya thanks the crowd and says goodbye. It’s hard to hear exactly what Araya is saying over the passionate cheers from the audience, but you can seem him wipe his eyes with his shirt and fold his hands together in gratitude.
“It was an emotional night…as Tom says goodbye to Europe,” Bello wrote in the caption. “@Slayerbandofficial rules.”
The final leg of Slayer’s farewell tour will launch November 2 in Asheville, North Carolina. The thrash icons will play their last show ever on November 30 at the Forum in Los Angeles.
