The Smashing Pumpkins schedule “The Late Show” performance

Scott Kowalchyk/CBSThe Smashing Pumpkins are about to make late night TV a bit shinier and brighter.

Billy Corgan and company will perform on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Wednesday, August 7, airing at 11:35 p.m. ET on CBS.

The day after their Colbert appearance, the Pumpkins will launch their summer tour in Camden, New Jersey. They’ll be joined on the outing by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and AFI.

Along with Corgan, The Smashing Pumpkins’ lineup once again includes fellow original members James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin, who reunited in 2018 to launch their first tour together in nearly 20 years. In November, they released a new album titled Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1/LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun.

More new Pumpkins music is also apparently in the works. In a recent Instagram Story, Corgan revealed that he has songs written for two more records.
