Royal Blood jams with blood relatives at UK show

ABC/Randy HolmesRoyal Blood‘s show in Southampton, England Friday night was a family affair: The U.K. duo invited their dads on stage to jam along with them.

The concert featured a trumpet solo from frontman Mike Kerr‘s dad Bob Kerr, as well as a gong performance from David Thatcher, father of drummer Ben Thatcher. You can check out photos from the dual father-son collaborations now via Royal Blood’s Instagram.

“It was such a powerful experience and one of the most magical shows we have ever played!” the band writes in the accompanying caption. “Family is everything. Here’s to David Thatcher for owning that gong and Bob Kerr for a savage trumpet solo.”

Royal Blood has been touring the U.K. this summer while also working on a new album, the follow-up to 2017’s How Did We Get So Dark?
