Follow the (Virtual) Leader: Korn to play concert inside “AdventureQuest” video games

Credit: Jimmy FontaineThe members of Korn have already been animated for a South Park episode, and now the nu metallers are entering the video game world.

A virtual version of the band will perform a concert inside the MMORPGs AdventureQuest 3D and AQWorlds — published and developed by Artix Entertainment — for a special in-game event starting Tuesday, August 20.

When the event begins at sundown ET, a stage featuring Korn’s digital avatars will appear in the game. They will provide the soundtrack during the gameplay, which includes slaying monsters and collecting loot. You’ll also hear a new song from Korn’s upcoming album, The Nothing.

The Korn AdventureQuest event will be free to play, but you can also purchase special bonus content, including Korn-branded items for your character. You’ll be able to play it for one month after its debut on August 20 before it disappears from the game.

The Nothing, the follow-up to 2016’s The Serenity of Suffering, arrives September 13. Korn is currently on tour with Alice in Chains.
