Beartooth announces country-inspired “The Blackbird Session” EP

Credit: Nick FancherBeartooth has announced a new EP titled The Blackbird Session, featuring four of the band’s songs re-recorded in a folk and country style.

As its name suggests, The Blackbird Session was recorded at the famed Blackbird Studio in Nashville. The studio’s owner John McBride was a guest engineer on the EP.

“When the idea came up to do acoustic sessions, immediately my mind went to family holidays — constantly surrounded by singing old hymns and harmonies on harmonies,” frontman Caleb Shomo says in a statement. “The idea of taking Beartooth in a direction of my first musical moments in life felt right.”

The songs Beartooth re-recorded for The Blackbird Session are “Disease,” “You Never Know,” “Afterall” and “Clever.” The EP will be released September 13.

Beartooth will be touring the U.S. this fall alongside A Day to Remember and I Prevail in continued support of their latest album, 2018’s Disease.
