Black Stone Cherry announces second “Black to Blues” EP

Mascot Label GroupBack in 2017, Black Stone Cherry released an EP titled Black to Blues, featuring covers of six blues classics. Now, the Kentucky rockers are bringing back the concept for another go-round.

Black to Blues, Vol. 2 will arrive October 18. The EP includes another six blues covers, including renditions of songs by Robert Johnson, Freddie King, Otis Rush, Howlin’ Wolf, Elmore James and Son House. You can download the cover of Johnson’s “Me and the Devil Blues” now via digital outlets.

“We could have never dreamed of the reaction we got from Black to Blues,” says frontman Chris Robertson. “It was amazing to have such a positive reaction to our take on some of our biggest influences in music.”

“We kept a couple artists in the line-up from last time and introduced a few others into the mix as well!” he adds. “We can’t wait for everyone to hear and feel how much fun we had recording this project!”

Black Stone Cherry’s latest original album is 2018’s Family Tree.
