Cage the Elephant’s Brad Shultz drops off tour due to herniated disc

Credit: Neil KrugCage the Elephant guitarist Brad Shultz is dropping off the band’s current tour with Beck and Spoon due to a herniated disc in his neck.

“Just wanted to let y’all know I’m OK,” Shultz wrote in a tweet posted Wednesday night. “The injury bug has bitten tho. I have a herniated disc in my neck.”

Shultz will be absent from the rest of the tour, which will conclude August 30 in West Palm Beach, Florida.

“I’ll be back soon and better then ever,” Shultz wrote. “Much Love for all the concern.”

Cage the Elephant has been touring in support of the new album Social Cues, which features the lead single “Ready to Let Go” and the Beck collaboration “Night Running.”

In other Cage happenings, the band also tweeted Wednesday, “Who wants a @CageTheElephant x [Billie Eilish] collab?”

It’s unclear whether there is actually something in the works between the two, or if the tweet was just wishful thinking, but in the meantime, you can start imagining what “Ain’t No Rest for the Bad Guy” would sound like.
