Portraits of Lars Ulrich & Iggy Pop featured in new Grammy Museum exhibit

ABC/Randy HolmesAn exhibit featuring new portraits of musicians — including Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, Ringo Starr and Iggy Pop — is opening at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles.

Titled Face the Music, the display features photographs of musicians taken as they’re listening to their favorite songs. For example, Ulrich was photographed while listening to Rage Against the Machine, while Pop’s picture was taken as he was rocking out to the iconic guitar instrumental “Rumble” by the late Link Wray.

“It was an incredibly fulfilling once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, personally and professionally, to capture some of the world’s most iconic musicians while they listened to their favorite songs,” says Face the Music photographer Richard Ehrlich. “It is a dream come true to now showcase these photographs at the Grammy Museum.”

Face the Music opens September 12 and will be on view through January 6, 2020. The exhibit also features portraits of artists including Sheryl Crow, Quincy Jones, RZA, Michael Bublé and Esperanza Spalding.
