Listen to Stone Temple Pilots’ 1994 “Interstate Love Song” performance, included on upcoming “Purple” reissue

Atlantic/RhinoStone Temple Pilots have unearthed a 1994 live recording of “Interstate Love Song,” which will be included on the band’s upcoming 25th anniversary reissue of their sophomore album, Purple.

The performance was recorded during a concert in New Haven, Connecticut. You can download the track now via digital outlets.

Speaking to Billboard about that show, bassist Robert DeLeo admits he was “really nervous.”

“It’s one of those things, you know, we were onstage in front of 25,000 people all of a sudden on that tour,” DeLeo says. “It was very shocking to have that many people in front of you.”

The Purple reissue, which includes a whole batch of live recordings, acoustic tracks and demos, will be released October 18.
