Report: Lawsuit filed over Blink-182 Fyre Festival payment

Walt Disney Television/Paula LoboOver two years later, the fallout of the infamous Fyre Festival continues.

According to Variety, the trustee in the Fyre bankruptcy case has filed a lawsuit requesting that Blink-182 return the $500,000 payment they received to headline the doomed event.

Additionally, the trustee is seeking the return of funds models Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski were paid to promote Fyre through their Instagram posts.

As you may recall, Blink pulled out of playing Fyre on the eve of the festival, writing in a statement, “We’re not confident that we would have what we need to give you the quality of performances we always give our fans.”

As Blink was making their announcement, social media was being flooded with reports that Fyre was on the brink of collapse, with attendees finding disaster relief tents instead of the luxurious accommodations they’d been promised.

This year, two documentaries about the Fyre Festival have been released. Billy McFarland, who co-founded the festival with Ja Rule, is currently in prison for wire fraud.
