Montana’s Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office, which covers the town of West Yellowstone, often receives tips about bison standing on the highway, which can endanger both drivers and the animal. In a Facebook post, the department reveals the hard-rocking method it uses to herd the bison.
“When deputies respond to a bison on the road, they turn on lights and siren and encourage the animal to leave the road with an air horn,” the post reads. “With a reluctant bison, they’ve been known to play AC/DC’s ‘Hells Bells’ over the speakers — that usually seems to work.”
No word on exactly why “Hells Bells” is the song of choice — perhaps “Highway to Hell” was too on the nose.
