Listen to Stone Temple Pilots’ 1994 live performance of ‘Purple’ song “Meatplow”

Atlantic/RhinoStone Temple Pilots have shared a previously unreleased live recording of their song “Meatplow,” included in the upcoming 25th anniversary deluxe reissue of the band’s 1994 sophomore album, Purple.

The performance was recorded during a 1994 show in New Haven, Connecticut, two months after Purple was originally released. You can listen to the track now, streaming via Consequence of Sound.

The Purple reissue, which includes a whole batch of live recordings, acoustic tracks and demos, will be released October 18.

STP will launch a co-headlining tour with Rival Sons this Friday in Baltimore. They’ll be supporting their new self-titled album — their first with new lead singer Jeff Gutt.
