System of a Down announces first show of 2020

The Armenian-American metallers have announced their first show of 2020: a set at Finland’s Provinssi festival on June 25. According to a tweet from the band, it’ll be the “first of many shows in Europe next year.”

So far, SOAD has played two shows in 2019: the Sonic Temple and Chicago Open Air festivals.

As for that new album, the wait for a follow-up to 2005’s Mezmerize and Hypnotize doesn’t look as though it’ll be ending in the near future.

Over the past two years, the band members have opened up about the creative differences that have led to the long delay between projects. In an interview published this past April, guitarist Daron Malakian said he doesn’t see a new album “happening any time soon.”
