In a far-reaching interview with Rolling Stone, the pop superstar reveals how much the Chicago pop punks have impacted her own music.
“I love Fall Out Boy so much,” Swift says. “Their songwriting really influenced me, lyrically, maybe more than anyone else. They take a phrase and they twist it.”
In particular, Swift references the line “Loaded God complex/Cock it and pull it” from the Fall Out Boy hit “Sugar, We’re Goin Down.”
“When I heard that, I was like, ‘I’m dreaming,'” she says.
Swift actually collaborated with Panic! at the Disco frontman and longtime friend-of-FOB Brendon Urie for her song “ME!”, which appears on her new album, Lover.
