HELLYEAH guitarist not “ready” to make another album to follow ‘Welcome Home’

Credit: Wombat FireHELLYEAH‘s new album Welcome Home, featuring the final recordings of late drummer Vinnie Paul, arrives this Friday. As for whether the group will continue to make new music without Paul, that’s up in the air.

Speaking to Outburn magazine, guitarist Tom Maxwell explains he’d like to do another album, but he’s currently not “ready” to do so.

“It’s too early to say anything,” Maxwell says. “We’re just gonna take this one day, one tour, one song at a time right now.”

HELLYEAH has been touring in support of Welcome Home with Stone Sour‘s Roy Mayorga on drums in place of Paul, who died June 2018 at age 54.

“We’re just lucky enough that we found somebody that is a brother who is going to be there to help us and step into that drum world and help us get through,” Maxwell says of Mayorga. “There’s no way we could have done it with anyone else. It’s kind of cosmic.”
