Guess which Green Day song spiked on YouTube on Sept. 30?

ABC/Randy HolmesGreen Day fans are already excited about the upcoming release of the band’s new album Father of All… — but they haven’t forgotten about their classic songs.

On September 30, the video for Green Day’s 2005 hit “Wake Me Up When September Ends” experienced its annual bump on YouTube, with daily views reaching 395,000. That represents a 135% spike in views compared to the average for the video the rest of this year.

The song was originally written by Billie Joe Armstrong about his father’s death on September 16, 1982.

Father of All…, the follow-up to 2016’s Revolution Radio, arrives February 7.

Green Day hits the road next summer for the much-hyped Hella Mega tour, which also features Fall Out Boy and Weezer.
