Highly Suspect hip hop: Listen to new song “Tokyo Ghoul” featuring Young Thug

300 EntertainmentHighly Suspect has debuted a new song called “Tokyo Ghoul,” which will appear on the band’s upcoming album, MCID.

The track, which you can download now via digital outlets, is basically a straight-up hip hop song, featuring Young Thug and “Terrible Johnny, which is frontman Johnny Stevens‘ rap moniker.

“Something people don’t usually associate Highly Suspect with is hip-hop, but I’ve been rapping since before this band even started,” Stevens tells Consequence of Sound. “I’ve always been rapping since I was a kid.”

He adds, “We finally came to this point where we were like, ‘Alright, let’s just do an actual hip hop song and not worry what people who know us for rock n’ roll think.”

MCID, which features the previously released singles “16” and “Upperdrugs,” arrives November 1. It also includes guest spots from Nothing But Thieves and Gojira.
