Green Day premieres “Fire, Ready, Aim” by performing it on ice

Greg Schneider(NEW YORK) — Before fans of the New Jersey Devils and the Philadelphia Flyers could sit down and enjoy the Wednesday night game, they were first to see an exclusive performance by Green Day — on ice.  With lots of pyrotechnics and drummer Tré Cool playing the drums with a hockey stick.

The band suited up and performed “Fire, Ready, Aim” — their latest single, which will serve as the official opening theme song for the National Hockey League and NBCSN’s Wednesday Night Hockey Game broadcasts.

The band recently announced a two-year partnership with the National Hockey League.

Fans can also catch the band perform at the 2020 Honda NHL All-Star Game on January 25 in St. Louis.  It’ll be simulcast on NBC, Sportsnet, CBC, and TVA Sports at 8 p.m. ET.

“Fire, Ready, Aim” is the latest track off Green Day’s forthcoming thirteenth studio album Father Of All… which drops February 7, 2020.

As previously announced, band is hitting the road with Fall Out Boy and Weezer next year as part of their worldwide Hella Mega Tour.
