Chris Cornell’s widow partnering with new mental health initiative for touring community

ABC/Randy HolmesVicky Cornell, the widow of late Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell, has partnered with Tour Support, a new mental health initiative in support of touring professionals, including artists, crew members and vendors.

“Losing Chris has been the single most devastating experience in my family’s life,” Vicky says in a statement to Billboard. “Tragically, there are countless stories like this, but we only hear about the famous ones.”

“The music community has lost far too many,” she continues. “We must promote and prioritize mental health and wellness and creating a real support system on the road is critical. Intervention is prevention.”

According to Billboard, artists including John Legend, Steve Aoki, Rick Springfield and Grace VanderWaal are also lending their support to the initiative.
