Ghost’s Tobias Forge on evolving live show: “I know that we can do so much better”

Credit: Mikael ErikssonGhost‘s live show is already pretty impressive, as you can see on the band’s ongoing fall North American tour in continued support of their latest album, 2018’s Prequelle. However, according to frontman Tobias Forge, the Swedish metallers aren’t close to reaching the top of their production game.

“I think what we’re delivering this fall is really good, but I know that we can do so much better,” Forge tells Worcester Magazine.

He continues, “If we take it a few steps further, I know that in 2021 and 2022, there will be a lot of things that people haven’t seen that I’ve had in mind for years that I hopefully get to accomplish at that point.”

Even then, though, Forge doesn’t see Ghost ever stop trying to improve their live show.

“But I really hope that at the end of that tour in 2023, I hope I have the same feeling of wanting to become better,” he says. “Because if you don’t constantly want to get better, then what…is the point?”

Ghost’s tour continues Thursday in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
