Green Day extends one ‘Billboard’ record & closes in on another with “Father of All…”

ABC/Randy HolmesGreen Day is making moves on the Billboard charts with “Father of All…”

The lead single and title track from the trio’s upcoming 13th studio album has reached the top five on Billboard‘s Alternative Songs chart, giving them a total of 21 singles that have hit that milestone.

That extends Green Day’s record for the act with the most top-five hits on Alternative Songs; Foo Fighters are second with 18.

Additionally, “Father of All…” is helping Green Day close in on another Billboard chart record. The song is the new leader on the Rock Airplay chart, which measures airplay across rock radio stations. Green Day now has five number-ones on that ranking, which is second to only the Foos, who have six.

Father of All… the album — the follow-up to 2016’s Revolution Radio — arrives February 7. Green Day will be supporting the new record next summer on the Hella Mega tour with Fall Out Boy and Weezer.
