My Chemical Romance & Rage Against the Machine’s YouTube views get boosts following reunion news

Reprise RecordsThe rock world saw two big reunions announcements last week, and apparently, a lot of people responded by heading to YouTube.

Views of videos by both My Chemical Romance and Rage Against the Machine saw a spike on the video platform after, both bands revealed days apart that they were getting back together.

According to a YouTube press release, views of MCR videos shot up 190 percent, while views of Rage clips saw an increase of 99 percent.

My Chem announced that they were back on Halloween, six years after the broke up in 2013. They’ll make their official live return December 20 at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, and have since added 2020 dates in Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

The Rage news broke the next day, on November 1. The political rap-rock icons, who last played a show together in 2011, will play a number of dates in 2020, including Coachella.
