Bring Me the Horizon planning to move away from albums & make “shorter records”

ABC/Randy HolmesBring Me the Horizon is planning to move away from making traditional albums, according to frontman Oli Sykes.

In an interview with NME, Sykes reveals that the U.K. rockers are “not going to do an album again, maybe ever.”

“We’re thinking about doing shorter records,” he explains. “I don’t want to say we’re going to do something and not live up to it, but the plan is to release multiple records next year.”

Sykes adds that he’s “really proud” of the latest Horizon album, Amo, but felt that it was a “ballache to make.”

“We spent a whole…year of our lives making that record,” Sykes says. “Part of me was like, ‘For what? We’re never going to get to play all of those songs.'”

“You have to ration your creativity over all your songs,” he continues. “You write a really cool pop song then you have to write a heavy song to balance out, then you need to think about singles.”

As Bring Me the Horizon figures out the best strategy for them to release music, you can listen to the group’s brand-new song, “Ludens,” featured on the Death Stranding video game soundtrack.
