Thirty Seconds to Mars mourns death of “City of Angels” video star Christopher Dennis

ABC/Randy HolmesThirty Seconds to Mars is mourning the death of Christopher Dennis, who starred in the band’s “City of Angels” video.

Dennis was a street performer who dressed up as Superman on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, earning him the nickname “Hollywood Superman.” He made multiple appearances on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!

In a tweet, Thirty Seconds to Mars writes, “It is with great sadness that we heard about the passing of Christopher Dennis, AKA ‘Hollywood Superman.'”

“Christopher graced the screen in our 2013 music video for ‘City of Angels,’ dressed as the iconic Man of Steel,” the statement continues. “He was a true dreamer. Rest in peace, Superman.”

The 11-minute “City of Angels” video, directed by Jared Leto, featured a number of celebrities including Kanye West, Lindsay Lohan, Olivia Wilde and Selena Gomez, as well as street performers such as Dennis, speaking about what Los Angels meant to them.

Dennis was found dead last Saturday, according to TMZ. He was 52.
