Slipknot’s Corey Taylor teases solo album filled with “big, expansive, huge, world-changing guitar songs”

ABC/Randy HolmesIt may seem that Corey Taylor has done every project under the sun, but the Slipknot frontman has never put out a solo album. Well, that’s soon going to change.

In an interview with WhatCulture, Taylor reveals he’s deep into working on his solo debut, and teases what it might sound like.

“It’s definitely going to be rock-based, but it’s going to be rock meets so many different things,” Taylor explains. “There will be harder-edged stuff, but there also will be big, expansive, huge, world-changing guitar songs that you’re going to want to sing along to. That’s just who I am, and I’m not going to fight who I am.”

As for how far he’s into the record, Taylor says that he’s currently got 26 songs written.

“And I’m not done yet,” he adds.

In between working on the solo stuff, Taylor will be on tour with Slipknot in continued support of their new album, We Are Not Your Kind. The masked metallers launch a South American tour later this month, and will kick off 2020 in Europe.
