The Raconteurs’ Brendan Benson reissuing debut solo album, ‘One Mississippi’

Third Man RecordsIt’s been a big year for The Raconteurs thanks to the release of their album Help Us Stranger.  Now the band’s Brendan Benson has a new release coming — except it’s more than two decades old.

On December 6, 23 years after its initial release, Jack White’s Third Man Records will reissue Benson’s debut album, One Mississippi, on vinyl for the first time.  A standard version on black vinyl and a deluxe version on clear vinyl will both be available.  You can pre-order it now.

“It’s been a long time coming!” Benson says in a statement. “My first album, One Mississippi, is finally available on vinyl! Thank you to the miracle workers at Third Man Records for making it so!”

Benson is currently working on a new solo album.  Meanwhile, as previously reported, the Third Man Records Vault subscription service is offering a three-LP live Raconteurs album, recorded during the band’s three-night sold-out run last month at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The package also features a Blu-ray of White’s intimate Detroit performance with Benson this past July, as well as a recording of White and Benson’s first-ever show together, which took place in Detroit on March 14, 1999.  A “mystery” Raconteurs flexi-disc completes the package.

To receive the package, sign up for the Third Man Records Vault before January 31. Visit ThirdManStore.com for more info.
