“I can’t express with words how grateful, humbled, and honored I am for this recognition!” Tremonti writes in an Instagram post.
Other axe wielders on Guitar World‘s ranking of the top guitarists of the 2010s include Gary Clark Jr., Alice Cooper guitarist Nita Strauss, and Tosin Abasi of Animals as Leaders.
“Many of the other guitarists on this list continue to inspire me and I’m so proud to be considered one of their peers,” Tremonti adds. “Thank you to all that made this possible, I am forever grateful!”
This decade, Tremonti released four albums with Alter Bridge, including this year’s Walk the Sky, and another four with his solo project, Tremonti.
