Listen to demo of Stone Sour’s “Blue Study”

RoadrunnerStone Sour guitarist Josh Rand has unearthed a demo of “Blue Study,” a track off the band’s 2002 self-titled debut album.

“‘Blue Study’ was one of four songs written in 1997 but not recorded until 2000 during a break in the Slipknot schedule,” Rand explains. “Three of those four songs made it onto the self-titled album and [2006’s] Come What(ever) May.”

The “Blue Study” demo follows the previously released demo for “Get Inside,” the first song Rand and frontman Corey Taylor recorded for Stone Sour.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Rand says he plans to release an archival Stone Sour recording each week in 2020, including demos to alternate versions of songs.

In December, Stone Sour released a new live album, Hello, You Bastards: Live in Reno. The band’s most recent studio effort is 2017’s Hydrograd.
