Corey Taylor describes upcoming solo record as “the best ’90s album ever”

Katja Ogrin/RedfernsIf you’ve got a hankering for ’90s rock, then Corey Taylor‘s got you covered.

In an interview with Kerrang!, the Slipknot frontman characterizes his upcoming long-in-the-works debut solo record as “the best ’90s album ever.”

“That’s the only way I can really describe it,” Taylor says.

“Some of it is a reflection of being sick and tired of this nutless rock n’ roll I’ve seen lately that is real soft,” he adds. “I like my rock n’ roll to kick me in the f***ing nuts.”

Should you agree with Taylor’s point of view, you’ll have some time to prepare yourself. Taylor says that he has 26 songs written for the album, but won’t start recording until 2021.

As for how he’s spending 2020, Taylor will be on the road with Slipknot as the masked metallers tour the world in support of their new album, We Are Not Your Kind. In August, the group will launch their inaugural Knotfest at Sea concert cruise.
