Tim Mosenfelder/Getty ImagesMetallica‘s James Hetfield will display his custom car collection at an upcoming exhibit hosted by the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.
The exhibition, titled Reclaimed Rust: The James Hetfield Collection, opens January 30 with a special reception, which will feature a “fireside chat” with the metal legend himself.

The reception will mark Hetfield’s first public event since re-entering treatment last fall for his ongoing battle with substance abuse issues.
Hetfield plans to return to the stage in March for Metallica’s charity concert in support of their All Withing My Hands foundation. Metallica’s 2020 also includes two unique headlining sets at five different upcoming rock festivals: Epicenter, Welcome to Rockville, Sonic Temple, Louder than Life and Aftershock.
