Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic to perform with surviving Doors members at charity concert

ABC AudioNirvana bassist Krist Novoselic will join the surviving members of The Doors — guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore — for a rare performance.

The show, dubbed the Homeward Bound Concert, is a charity gig benefiting the organization PATH, a Los Angeles-based non-profit dedicated to ending homelessness. It takes place January 23 at the Wiltern in L.A.

According to Rolling Stone, Novoselic will play bass alongside Krieger and Densmore for a 30-minute “semi-acoustic” set, featuring a variety of guest vocalists.

Other Homeward Bound performers include Fitz and the Tantrums, morgxn, Jason Mraz, Ingrid Michaelson, and Dave Stewart of Eurythmics.

Novoselic, meanwhile, just reunited with his Nirvana band mates Dave Grohl and Pat Smear during an L.A. charity gig earlier this month. The trio played a five-song set with guest vocals from Beck, St. Vincent and Grohl’s daughter, Violet.
