Disturbed premieres “Hold on to Memories” video; headlining inaugural Upheaval Festival with Staind

Credit: Travis ShinnDisturbed has premiered the video for “Hold on to Memories,” a track off the band’s latest album, 2018’s Evolution.

The clip, streaming now on YouTube, stars a variety of people painting masks in honor of the loved ones they’ve lost. Frontman David Draiman previously told Metal Hammer that the idea for “Hold on to Memories” was inspired by the Day of the Dead celebration in the animated film Coco.

“They light candles to remember their loved ones, and the theology behind it is that as long as your loved ones are remembered, their souls remain intact in the afterlife,” Draiman said.

In other Disturbed news, the Chicago metallers will be headlining the inaugural Upheavel Festival, held July 17-18 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The reunited Staind will also headline the festival, and the rest of the bill includes Skillet, Chevelle, HELLYEAH and Avatar, among others.
